A syrah from the mighty ‘vintage of the century’ and, boy, does it prove its pedigree. Crafted by Jenny Dobson, a freakishly talented winemaker who should be given ‘national treasure’ status, just a small number of individually-numbered bottles were made of this wine. Intensely glossy, dark and inky in the glass and boasting huge florals, pepper notes, soft, plump tannins, and excellent length, there’s also no mistaking the oak layers.
